JOSEPH, ESPOUSED TO MARY!

[15]Eliud begot Eleazar, Eleazar begot Matthan, and Matthan begot Jacob.
[16]And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ.
[18]Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.
[19]Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly.
[20]But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
[21]And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”
[22]So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:
[24]Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife,
[25]and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name Jesus.

[1]Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem,
[4]And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born.
[5]So they said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet:
[9]When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was.
[10]When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.
[11]And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
[12]Then, being divinely warned in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed for their own country another way. The Flight into Egypt
[13]Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.”
[14]When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt,
[15]and was there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, “Out of Egypt I called My Son.” Massacre of the Innocents
[19]Now when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,
[20]saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the young Child’s life are dead.”
[21]Then he arose, took the young Child and His mother, and came into the land of Israel.
[23]And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, “He shall be called a Nazarene.”

MARY, A FAVORED WOMAN!

[23]“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

[26]Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth,
[27]to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.
[28]And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”
[30]Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
[31]And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.
[32]He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.

But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law...

IMMANUEL PROPHECIES!

Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

[1]There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots.

[10]“And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse, Who shall stand as a banner to the people; For the Gentiles shall seek Him, And His resting place shall be glorious.”

“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper, And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.

[1]Now gather yourself in troops, O daughter of troops; He has laid siege against us; They will strike the judge of Israel with a rod on the cheek. The Coming Messiah

[2]“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting.”

MOUNTAIN BE REMOVED!

FINANCIAL, HEALTH, PERSONAL

16.  "For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin?"

17.  "My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up mine iniquity."

18.  "And surely the mountain falling cometh to nought, and the rock is removed out of his place."

"He ( LORD) putteth forth his hand upon the rock; he overturneth the mountains by the roots."

5.  "For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."

6.  "And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved."

7.  "LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled."

2.  "Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;"

3.  "Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah."

"For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee."

COMFORT DURING ILLNESS! #2

Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted.

[28]Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

[25]Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.

[27]Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

[35]Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
[37]Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
[38]For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come...
[39]nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

[3]Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
[4]who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

[3]And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.
[4]And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

COMFORT DURING ILLNESS!

OLD TESTAMENT:

Psalms 34:7,18-19

[7]The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them.

[18]The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.

[19]Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all.

Isaiah 41:10,13

[10]Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

[13]For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’

Lamentations 3:22-24,26

[22]Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not.

[23]They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

[24]“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!”

[26]It is good that one should hope and wait quietly For the salvation of the Lord.

BIBLE ANIMALS ARE IMPORTANT! #5

OLD TESTAMENT: SOME FOWLS:

THE DOVE & THE FLOOD:

:

Genesis 7:1-3,10,13,24

[1]Then the Lord said to Noah, “Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation.
[2]You shall take with you seven each of every clean animal, a male and his female; two each of animals that are unclean, a male and his female;
[3]also seven each of birds of the air, male and female, to keep the species alive on the face of all the earth.
[10]And it came to pass after seven days that the waters of the flood were on the earth.
[13]On the very same day Noah and Noah’s sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and Noah’s wife and the three wives of his sons with them, entered the ark—
[24]And the waters prevailed on the earth one hundred and fifty days.

THE RAVEN:

Genesis 8:1,4,6-7,19

[1]Then God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the animals that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided.
[4]Then the ark rested in the seventh month, the seventeenth day of the month, on the mountains of Ararat.
[6]So it came to pass, at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made.
[7]Then he sent out a raven, which kept going to and fro until the waters had dried up from the earth.
[19]Every animal, every creeping thing, every bird, and whatever creeps on the earth, according to their families, went out of the ark. God’s Covenant with Creation.

Leviticus 11:1,13,15

[1]Now the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying to them,
[13]‘And these you shall regard as an abomination among the birds; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, the vulture, the buzzard,
[15]every raven after its kind...

1 Kings 17:1-4,6

[1]And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the Lord God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my word.”
[2]Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying,
[3]“Get away from here and turn eastward, and hide by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan.
[4]And it will be that you shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.”
[6]The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the brook.

THE QUAIL:

Exodus 16:11-13

[11]And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
[12]“I have heard the complaints of the children of Israel. Speak to them, saying, ‘At twilight you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread. And you shall know that I am the Lord your God.’ ”
[13]So it was that quails came up at evening and covered the camp, and in the morning the dew lay all around the camp.

Numbers 11:13-14,18,31-32

[13]Where am I to get meat to give to all these people? For they weep all over me, saying, ‘Give us meat, that we may eat.’
[14]I am not able to bear all these people alone, because the burden is too heavy for me.
[18]Then you shall say to the people, ‘Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, and you shall eat meat; for you have wept in the hearing of the Lord, saying, “Who will give us meat to eat? For it was well with us in Egypt.” Therefore the Lord will give you meat, and you shall eat.
[31]Now a wind went out from the Lord, and it brought quail from the sea and left them fluttering near the camp, about a day’s journey on this side and about a day’s journey on the other side, all around the camp, and about two cubits above the surface of the ground.
[32]And the people stayed up all that day, all night, and all the next day, and gathered the quail (he who gathered least gathered ten homers); and they spread them out for themselves all around the camp.

Psalms 105:1,26-27,40

[1]Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples!
[26]He sent Moses His servant, And Aaron whom He had chosen.
[27]They performed His signs among them, And wonders in the land of Ham.
[40]The people asked, and He brought quail, And satisfied them with the bread of heaven.

BIBLE ANIMALS ARE IMPORTANT! #4

Matthew 21:1-3,7-11

[1]Now when they drew near Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,
[2]saying to them, “Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Loose them and bring them to Me.
[3]And if anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord has need of them,’ and immediately he will send them.”
[7]They brought the donkey and the colt, laid their clothes on them, and set Him on them.
[8]And a very great multitude spread their clothes on the road; others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road.
[9]Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: “Hosanna to the Son of David! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Hosanna in the highest!”
[10]And when He had come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, “Who is this?”
[11]So the multitudes said, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee.”

Luke 13:14-17

[14]But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath; and he said to the crowd, “There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day.”
[15]The Lord then answered him and said, “Hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it?
[16]So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?”
[17]And when He said these things, all His adversaries were put to shame; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by Him.

John 12:12-15

[12]The next day a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
[13]took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out: “Hosanna! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ The King of Israel!”
[14]Then Jesus, when He had found a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written:
[15]“Fear not, daughter of Zion; Behold, your King is coming, Sitting on a donkey’s colt.”

BALAAM & THE DONKEY

Numbers 22:21-23,25,27-34,37-38

[21]So Balaam rose in the morning, saddled his donkey, and went with the princes of Moab

[22]Then God’s anger was aroused because he went, and the Angel of the Lord took His stand in the way as an adversary against him. And he was riding on his donkey, and his two servants were with him.

[23]Now the donkey saw the Angel of the Lord standing in the way with His drawn sword in His hand, and the donkey turned aside out of the way and went into the field. So Balaam struck the donkey to turn her back onto the road.

[25]And when the donkey saw the Angel of the Lord, she pushed herself against the wall and crushed Balaam’s foot against the wall; so he struck her again.

[27]And when the donkey saw the Angel of the Lord, she lay down under Balaam; so Balaam’s anger was aroused, and he struck the donkey with his staff.

[28]Then the Lord opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, “What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?”

[29]And Balaam said to the donkey, “Because you have abused me. I wish there were a sword in my hand, for now I would kill you!”

[30]So the donkey said to Balaam, “Am I not your donkey on which you have ridden, ever since I became yours, to this day? Was I ever disposed to do this to you?” And he said, “No.”

[31]Then the Lord opened Balaam’s eyes, and he saw the Angel of the Lord standing in the way with His drawn sword in His hand; and he bowed his head and fell flat on his face.

[32]And the Angel of the Lord said to him, “Why have you struck your donkey these three times? Behold, I have come out to stand against you, because your way is perverse before Me.

[33]The donkey saw Me and turned aside from Me these three times. If she had not turned aside from Me, surely I would also have killed you by now, and let her live.”

[34]And Balaam said to the Angel of the Lord, “I have sinned, for I did not know You stood in the way against me. Now therefore, if it displeases You, I will turn back.”

[37]Then Balak said to Balaam, “Did I not earnestly send to you, calling for you? Why did you not come to me? Am I not able to honor you?”

[38]And Balaam said to Balak, “Look, I have come to you! Now, have I any power at all to say anything? The word that God puts in my mouth, that I must speak.”

2 Peter 2:15-16

[15]They have forsaken the right way and gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

[16]but he was rebuked for his iniquity: a dumb donkey speaking with a man’s voice restrained the madness of the prophet.

NEW TESTAMENT:

PETER & THE ROOSTER:

Matthew 26:58-59,69-75

[58]But Peter followed Him at a distance to the high priest’s courtyard. And he went in and sat with the servants to see the end.

[59]Now the chief priests, the elders, and all the council sought false testimony against Jesus to put Him to death,

[69]Now Peter sat outside in the courtyard. And a servant girl came to him, saying, “You also were with Jesus of Galilee.”

[70]But he denied it before them all, saying, “I do not know what you are saying.”

[71]And when he had gone out to the gateway, another girl saw him and said to those who were there, “This fellow also was with Jesus of Nazareth.”

[72]But again he denied with an oath, “I do not know the Man!”

[73]And a little later those who stood by came up and said to Peter, “Surely you also are one of them, for your speech betrays you.”

[74]Then he began to curse and swear, saying, “I do not know the Man!” Immediately a rooster crowed.

[75]And Peter remembered the word of Jesus who had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” So he went out and wept bitterly.

Mark 14:65-72

[65]Then some began to spit on Him, and to blindfold Him, and to beat Him, and to say to Him, “Prophesy!” And the officers struck Him with the palms of their hands.

[66]Now as Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came.

[67]And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, “You also were with Jesus of Nazareth.”

[68]But he denied it, saying, “I neither know nor understand what you are saying.” And he went out on the porch, and a rooster crowed.

[69]And the servant girl saw him again, and began to say to those who stood by, “This is one of them.”

[70]But he denied it again. And a little later those who stood by said to Peter again, “Surely you are one of them; for you are a Galilean, and your speech shows it. ”

[71]Then he began to curse and swear, “I do not know this Man of whom you speak!”

[72]A second time the rooster crowed. Then Peter called to mind the word that Jesus had said to him, “Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times.” And when he thought about it, he wept.

Luke 22:33-34,54,56-58,60-62

[33]But he said to Him, “Lord, I am ready to go with You, both to prison and to death.”

[34]Then He said, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster shall not crow this day before you will deny three times that you know Me.” Supplies for the Road

[54]Having arrested Him, they led Him and brought Him into the high priest’s house. But Peter followed at a distance.

[56]And a certain servant girl, seeing him as he sat by the fire, looked intently at him and said, “This man was also with Him.”

[57]But he denied Him, saying, “Woman, I do not know Him.”

[58]And after a little while another saw him and said, “You also are of them.” But Peter said, “Man, I am not!”

[60]But Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you are saying!” Immediately, while he was still speaking, the rooster crowed.

[61]And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.”

[62]So Peter went out and wept bitterly.

John 13:36-38

[36]Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, where are You going?” Jesus answered him, “Where I am going you cannot follow Me now, but you shall follow Me afterward.”

[37]Peter said to Him, “Lord, why can I not follow You now? I will lay down my life for Your sake.”

[38]Jesus answered him, “Will you lay down your life for My sake? Most assuredly, I say to you, the rooster shall not crow till you have denied Me three times.

John 18:24-27

[24]Then Annas sent Him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.

[25]Now Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. Therefore they said to him, “You are not also one of His disciples, are you?” He denied it and said, “I am not!”

[26]One of the servants of the high priest, a relative of him whose ear Peter cut off, said, “Did I not see you in the garden with Him?”

[27]Peter then denied again; and immediately a rooster crowed. In Pilate’s Court
