INTERVENTION FROM BIBLE WOMEN! NEW TESTAMENT

WIFE OF GOVERNOR PONTUS PILATE, INTERVENES:

GIVES ADVICES ABOUT JESUS

Matthew 27:2,15-19,23-25

[2]And when they had bound Him ( JESUS),
they led Him away and delivered Him to
Pontius Pilate the governor...

[15]Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to releasing to the multitude one prisoner whom they wished.
[16]And at that time they had a notorious prisoner called Barabbas.
[17]Therefore, when they had gathered together, Pilate said to them, “Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?”
[18]For he knew that they had handed Him over because of envy.
[19]While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, “Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him.”

[23]Then the governor said, “Why, what evil has He done?” But they cried out all the more, saying, “Let Him be crucified!”
[24]When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, “I am innocent of the blood of this just Person. You see to it. ”
[25]And all the people answered and said, “His blood be on us and on our children.”

MARY MAGDALENE INTERVENES:

ADVISES DISCIPLES ABOUT JESUS.

Matthew 27:55-56,61
[55]And many women who followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to Him, were there looking on from afar,
[56]among whom were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee’s sons. Jesus Buried in Joseph’s Tomb
[61]And Mary Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, sitting opposite the tomb. Pilate Sets a Guard.

Matthew 28:1-5,7,9-10

[1]Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.
[2]And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it.
[3]His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.
[4]And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.
[5]But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.
[7]And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.”
[9]And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice!” So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him.
[10]Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.” The Soldiers Are Bribed

Mark 15:40-41,47

[40]There were also women looking on from afar, among whom were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the Less and of Joses, and Salome,
[41]who also followed Him and ministered to Him when He was in Galilee, and many other women who came up with Him to Jerusalem. Jesus Buried in Joseph’s Tomb
[47]And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses observed where He was laid.

Mark 16:1,3-9

[1]Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him.
[3]And they said among themselves, “Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?”
[4]But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away—for it was very large.
[5]And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed.
[6]But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.
[7]But go, tell His disciples—and Peter—that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.”
[8]So they went out quickly and fled from the tomb, for they trembled and were amazed. And they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid. Mary Magdalene Sees the Risen Lord
[9]Now when He rose early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven demons.

Luke 8:2

[2]and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities—Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had come seven demons.

Ă€NNA, PROPHETESS INTERVENES:

BEARS WITNESS OF GOD'S

REDEMPTIVE POWER!

Luke 2:35-38

[35](yes, a sword will pierce through your own soul also), that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.” Anna Bears Witness to the Redeemer
[36]Now there was one, Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was of a great age, and had lived with a husband seven years from her virginity;
[37]and this woman was a widow of about eighty-four years, who did not depart from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.
[38]And coming in that instant she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of Him to all those who looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

MARY, MOTHER OF JESUS, INTERVENES:

ADVISES DISCIPLES @ WEDDING:

John 2:1-3,5-9,11

[1]On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.
[2]Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding.
[3]And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”
[5]His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it. ”
[6]Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece.
[7]Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim.
[8]And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it.
[9]When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom.
[11]This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.

JEZEBEL, WIFE OF KING AHAB:

INTERVENES & KILLS PROPHETS OF THE LORD:

ARRANGED MURDER OF NABOTH, OWNER OF

 VINEYARD

1 Kings 18:3-4,13

[3]And Ahab had called Obadiah, who was in charge of his house. (Now Obadiah feared the Lord greatly.

[4]For so it was, while Jezebel massacred the prophets of the Lord, that Obadiah had taken one hundred prophets and hidden them, fifty to a cave, and had fed them with bread and water.)

[13]Was it not reported to my lord what I did when Jezebel killed the prophets of the Lord, how I hid one hundred men of the Lord’s prophets, fifty to a cave, and fed them with bread and water?

1 Kings 19:1-2

[1]And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, also how he had executed all the prophets with the sword.

[2]Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time.”

1 Kings 21:5,7-15,23,25

[5]But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said to him, “Why is your spirit so sullen that you eat no food?”

[7]Then Jezebel his wife said to him, “You now exercise authority over Israel! Arise, eat food, and let your heart be cheerful; I will give you the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.”

[8]And she wrote letters in Ahab’s name, sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters to the elders and the nobles who were dwelling in the city with Naboth.

[9]She wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and seat Naboth with high honor among the people;

[10]and seat two men, scoundrels, before him to bear witness against him, saying, “You have blasphemed God and the king.” Then take him out, and stone him, that he may die.

[11]So the men of his city, the elders and nobles who were inhabitants of his city, did as Jezebel had sent to them, as it was written in the letters which she had sent to them.

[12]They proclaimed a fast, and seated Naboth with high honor among the people.

[13]And two men, scoundrels, came in and sat before him; and the scoundrels witnessed against him, against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, “Naboth has blasphemed God and the king!” Then they took him outside the city and stoned him with stones, so that he died.

[14]Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, “Naboth has been stoned and is dead.”

[15]And it came to pass, when Jezebel heard that Naboth had been stoned and was dead, that Jezebel said to Ahab, “Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give you for money; for Naboth is not alive, but dead.”

[23]And concerning Jezebel the Lord also spoke, saying, ‘The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel.’

[25]But there was no one like Ahab who sold himself to do wickedness in the sight of the Lord, because Jezebel his wife stirred him up.

2 Kings 9:10,30,32-33,36-37

[10]The dogs shall eat Jezebel on the plot of ground at Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her. ’ ” And he opened the door and fled.

[30]Now when Jehu had come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she put paint on her eyes and adorned her head, and looked through a window.

[32]And he looked up at the window, and said, “Who is on my side? Who?” So two or three eunuchs looked out at him.

[33]Then he said, “Throw her down.” So they threw her down, and some of her blood spattered on the wall and on the horses; and he trampled her underfoot.

[36]Therefore they came back and told him. And he said, “This is the word of the Lord, which He spoke by His servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, ‘On the plot of ground at Jezreel dogs shall eat the flesh of Jezebel;

[37]and the corpse of Jezebel shall be as refuse on the surface of the field, in the plot at Jezreel, so that they shall not say, “Here lies Jezebel.” ’

QUEEN ESTHER: INTERVENES:

INFORMS KING OF PLOT

Esther 2:2-4,15-18,20-23

[2]Then the king’s servants who attended him said: “Let beautiful young virgins be sought for the king;

[3]and let the king appoint officers in all the provinces of his kingdom, that they may gather all the beautiful young virgins to Shushan the citadel, into the women’s quarters, under the custody of Hegai the king’s eunuch, custodian of the women. And let beauty preparations be given them.

[4]Then let the young woman who pleases the king be queen instead of Vashti.” This thing pleased the king, and he did so.

[15]Now when the turn came for Esther the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her as his daughter, to go in to the king, she requested nothing but what Hegai the king’s eunuch, the custodian of the women, advised. And Esther obtained favor in the sight of all who saw her.

[16]So Esther was taken to King Ahasuerus, into his royal palace, in the tenth month, which is the month of Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign.

[17]The king loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins; so he set the royal crown upon her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.

[18]Then the king made a great feast, the Feast of Esther, for all his officials and servants; and he proclaimed a holiday in the provinces and gave gifts according to the generosity of a king. Mordecai Discovers a Plot

[20]Now Esther had not revealed her family and her people, just as Mordecai had charged her, for Esther obeyed the command of Mordecai as when she was brought up by him

[21]In those days, while Mordecai sat within the king’s gate, two of the king’s eunuchs, Bigthan and Teresh, doorkeepers, became furious and sought to lay hands on King Ahasuerus.

[22]So the matter became known to Mordecai, who told Queen Esther, and Esther informed the king in Mordecai’s name.

[23]And when an inquiry was made into the matter, it was confirmed, and both were hanged on a gallows; and it was written in the book of the chronicles in the presence of the king.

INTERVENTION FROM BIBLE WOMEN #2

DELILAH ON A MISSION:

Judges 16:4-6,10,15-21, 28-31

[4]Afterward it happened that he ( Samson) loved a woman in the Valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah.

[5]And the lords of the Philistines came up to her and said to her, “Entice him, and find out where his great strength lies, and by what means we may overpower him, that we may bind him to afflict him; and every one of us will give you eleven hundred pieces of silver.”

[6]So Delilah said to Samson, “Please tell me where your great strength lies, and with what you may be bound to afflict you.”

[10]Then Delilah said to Samson, “Look, you have mocked me and told me lies. Now, please tell me what you may be bound with.”

[15]Then she said to him, “How can you say, ‘I love you,’ when your heart is not with me? You have mocked me these three times, and have not told me where your great strength lies. ”

[16]And it came to pass, when she pestered him daily with her words and pressed him, so that his soul was vexed to death,

[17]that he told her all his heart, and said to her, “No razor has ever come upon my head, for I have been a Nazirite to God from my mother’s womb. If I am shaven, then my strength will leave me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.”

[18]When Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, “Come up once more, for he has told me all his heart.” So the lords of the Philistines came up to her and brought the money in their hand.

[19]Then she lulled him to sleep on her knees, and called for a man and had him shave off the seven locks of his head. Then she began to torment him, and his strength left him.

[20]And she said, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” So he awoke from his sleep, and said, “I will go out as before, at other times, and shake myself free!” But he did not know that the Lord had departed from him.

[21]Then the Philistines took him and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza. They bound him with bronze fetters, and he became a grinder in the priso

[28]Then Samson called to the Lord, saying, “O Lord God, remember me, I pray! Strengthen me, I pray, just this once, O God, that I may with one blow take vengeance on the Philistines for my two eyes!”

[30]Then Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines!” And he pushed with all his might, and the temple fell on the lords and all the people who were in it. So the dead that he killed at his death were more than he had killed in his life.

[31]And his brothers and all his father’s household came down and took him, and brought him up and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the tomb of his father Manoah. He had judged Israel twenty years.

BATHSHEBA INTERVENES:

SOLOMON BECOMES THE KING:

1 Kings 1:11-14,16-18,22-23,28,30,34,39,50-52

[11]So Nathan spoke to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon, saying, “Have you not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith has become king, and David our lord does not know it?

[12]Come, please, let me now give you advice, that you may save your own life and the life of your son Solomon.

[13]Go immediately to King David and say to him, ‘Did you not, my lord, O king, swear to your maidservant, saying, “Assuredly your son Solomon shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne“? Why then has Adonijah become king?’

[14]Then, while you are still talking there with the king, I also will come in after you and confirm your words.”

[16]And Bathsheba bowed and did homage to the king. Then the king said, “What is your wish?”

[17]Then she said to him, “My lord, you swore by the Lord your God to your maidservant, saying, ‘Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne.’

[18]So now, look! Adonijah has become king; and now, my lord the king, you do not know about it.

[22]And just then, while she was still talking with the king, Nathan the prophet also came in.

[23]So they told the king, saying, “Here is Nathan the prophet.” And when he came in before the king, he bowed down before the king with his face to the ground.

[28]Then King David answered and said, “Call Bathsheba to me.” So she came into the king’s presence and stood before the king.

[30]just as I swore to you by the Lord God of Israel, saying, ‘Assuredly Solomon your son shall be king after me, and he shall sit on my throne in my place,’ so I certainly will do this day.”

[34]There let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him king over Israel; and blow the horn, and say, ‘Long live King Solomon!’

[39]Then Zadok the priest took a horn of oil from the tabernacle and anointed Solomon. And they blew the horn, and all the people said, “Long live King Solomon!”

[50]Now Adonijah was afraid of Solomon; so he arose, and went and took hold of the horns of the altar.

[51]And it was told Solomon, saying, “Indeed Adonijah is afraid of King Solomon; for look, he has taken hold of the horns of the altar, saying, ‘Let King Solomon swear to me today that he will not put his servant to death with the sword.’ ”

[52]Then Solomon said, “If he proves himself a worthy man, not one hair of him shall fall to the earth; but if wickedness is found in him, he shall die.”

QUEEN OF SHEBA TESTS SOLOMON:

1 Kings 10:1-4,6-7,9-10,13

[1]Now when the Queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the Lord, she came to test him with hard questions.

[2]She came to Jerusalem with a very great retinue, with camels that bore spices, very much gold, and precious stones; and when she came to Solomon, she spoke with him about all that was in her heart.

[3]So Solomon answered all her questions; there was nothing so difficult for the king that he could not explain it to her.

[4]And when the Queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built,

[6]Then she said to the king: “It was a true report which I heard in my own land about your words and your wisdom.

[7]However I did not believe the words until I came and saw with my own eyes; and indeed the half was not told me. Your wisdom and prosperity exceed the fame of which I heard.

[9]Blessed be the Lord your God, who delighted in you, setting you on the throne of Israel! Because the Lord has loved Israel forever, therefore He made you king, to do justice and righteousness.”

[10]Then she gave the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold, spices in great quantity, and precious stones. There never again came such abundance of spices as the Queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.

[13]Now King Solomon gave the queen of Sheba all she desired, whatever she asked, besides what Solomon had given her according to the royal generosity. So she turned and went to her own country, she and her servants. Solomon’s Great Wealth

2 Chronicles 9:1-3,5,9

[1]Now when the Queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to Jerusalem to test Solomon with hard questions, having a very great retinue, camels that bore spices, gold in abundance, and precious stones; and when she came to Solomon, she spoke with him about all that was in her heart.

[2]So Solomon answered all her questions; there was nothing so difficult for Solomon that he could not explain it to her.

[3]And when the Queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built,

[5]Then she said to the king: “It was a true report which I heard in my own land about your words and your wisdom.

[9]And she gave the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold, spices in great abundance, and precious stones; there never were any spices such as those the Queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.

INTERVENTION FROM BIBLE WOMEN! OLD TESTAMENT

 RAHAB INTERVENES:
SPIES FROM ISRAEL AVOID BEING CAPTURED

Joshua 2:1,3-4,6,8-13,15-16,18-22

[1]Now Joshua the son of Nun sent out two men from Acacia Grove to spy secretly, saying, “Go, view the land, especially Jericho.” So they went, and came to the house of a harlot named Rahab, and lodged there.
[3]So the king of Jericho sent to Rahab, saying, “Bring out the men who have come to you, who have entered your house, for they have come to search out all the country.”
[4]Then the woman took the two men and hid them. So she said, “Yes, the men came to me, but I did not know where they were from.
[6](But she had brought them up to the roof and hidden them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order on the roof.)
[8]Now before they lay down, she came up to them on the roof,
[9]and said to the men: “I know that the Lord has given you the land, that the terror of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land are fainthearted because of you.
[10]For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were on the other side of the Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed.
[11]And as soon as we heard these things, our hearts melted; neither did there remain any more courage in anyone because of you, for the Lord your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath.
[12]Now therefore, I beg you, swear to me by the Lord, since I have shown you kindness, that you also will show kindness to my father’s house, and give me a true token,
[13]and spare my father, my mother, my brothers, my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death.”
[15]Then she let them down by a rope through the window, for her house was on the city wall; she dwelt on the wall.
[16]And she said to them, “Get to the mountain, lest the pursuers meet you. Hide there three days, until the pursuers have returned. Afterward you may go your way.”
[18]unless, when we come into the land, you bind this line of scarlet cord in the window through which you let us down, and unless you bring your father, your mother, your brothers, and all your father’s household to your own home.
[19]So it shall be that whoever goes outside the doors of your house into the street, his blood shall be on his own head, and we will be guiltless. And whoever is with you in the house, his blood shall be on our head if a hand is laid on him.
[20]And if you tell this business of ours, then we will be free from your oath which you made us swear.”
[21]Then she said, “According to your words, so be it.” And she sent them away, and they departed. And she bound the scarlet cord in the window.
[22]They departed and went to the mountain, and stayed there three days until the pursuers returned. The sought them all along the way, but did not find them.

PROPHETESS DEBORAH INTERVENES
HELPS BARAK PURSUE ARMY OF SISERA:

Judges 4:1,4-10,14-16

[1]When Ehud was dead, the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord.
[4]Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, was judging Israel at that time.
[5]And she would sit under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the mountains of Ephraim. And the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.
[6]Then she sent and called for Barak the son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphtali, and said to him, “Has not the Lord God of Israel commanded, ‘Go and deploy troops at Mount Tabor; take with you ten thousand men of the sons of Naphtali and of the sons of Zebulun;
[7]and against you I will deploy Sisera, the commander of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude at the River Kishon; and I will deliver him into your hand’?”
[8]And Barak said to her, “If you will go with me, then I will go; but if you will not go with me, I will not go!”
[9]So she said, “I will surely go with you; nevertheless there will be no glory for you in the journey you are taking, for the Lord will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman.” Then Deborah arose and went with Barak to Kedesh.
[10]And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; he went up with ten thousand men under his command, and Deborah went up with him.
[14]Then Deborah said to Barak, “Up! For this is the day in which the Lord has delivered Sisera into your hand. Has not the Lord gone out before you?” So Barak went down from Mount Tabor with ten thousand men following him.
[15]And the Lord routed Sisera and all his chariots and all his army with the edge of the sword before Barak; and Sisera alighted from his chariot and fled away on foot.
[16]But Barak pursued the chariots and the army as far as Harosheth Hagoyim, and all the army of Sisera fell by the edge of the sword; not a man was left.

JAEL, WIFE OF HEBER INTERVENES:
ADVISES SISERA

Judges 4:17-21

[17]However, Sisera had fled away on foot to the tent of Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite; for there was peace between Jabin king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.
[18]And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said to him, “Turn aside, my lord, turn aside to me; do not fear.” And when he had turned aside with her into the tent, she covered him with a blanket.
[19]Then he said to her, “Please give me a little water to drink, for I am thirsty.” So she opened a jug of milk, gave him a drink, and covered him.
[20]And he said to her, “Stand at the door of the tent, and if any man comes and inquires of you, and says, ‘Is there any man here?’ you shall say, ‘No.’ ”
[21]Then Jael, Heber’s wife, took a tent peg and took a hammer in her hand, and went softly to him and drove the peg into his temple, and it went down into the ground; for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.

JOY WITH JESUS!

[37]As the Lord has been with my lord the king, even so may He be with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord King David.”
[39]Then Zadok the priest took a horn of oil from the tabernacle and anointed Solomon. And they blew the horn, and all the people said, “Long live King Solomon!”
[40]And all the people went up after him; and the people played the flutes and rejoiced with great JOY, so that the earth seemed to split with their sound.

So David, the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord from the house of Obed-Edom with JOY.

1 Chronicles 29:17

I know also, my God, that You test the heart and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things; and now with JOY I have seen Your people, who are present here to offer willingly to You.

Then the children of Israel, the priests and the Levites and the rest of the descendants of the captivity, celebrated the dedication of this house of God with JOY.

Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the JOY of the Lord is your strength.”

Also that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced, for God had made them rejoice with great JOY; the women and the children also rejoiced, so that the JOY of Jerusalem was heard afar off...

But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for JOY, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your name Be JOYFUL in You.

Psalms 16:11

You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of JOY; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Psalms 21:1

The king shall have JOY in Your strength, O Lord; And in Your salvation how greatly shall he rejoice

Psalms 27:6

And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; Therefore I will offer sacrifices of JOY in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.

Job 8:19

“Behold, this is the JOY of His way, And out of the earth others will grow.

Job 38:5-7

[5]Who determined its measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it?
[6]To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone,
[7]When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for JOY?

But some of them were men from Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, preaching the Lord Jesus.

BE ALERT: KEEP WATCH!

[35]Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. No One Knows the Day or Hour
[36]“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.
[37]But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
[38]For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,
[39]and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
[40]Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left.
[42]Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.

Matthew 25:1,10,13

[1]“Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.
[10]And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.
[13]“Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming...

[39]But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.
[40]Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”
[45]But if that servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and be drunk,
[46]the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
[54]Then He also said to the multitudes, “Whenever you see a cloud rising out of the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming’; and so it is.
[55]And when you see the south wind blow, you say, ‘There will be hot weather’; and there is.
[56]Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time? Make Peace with Your Adversary!

Luke 12:39-40,45-46,54-56

[39]But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.
[40]Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”
[45]But if that servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and be drunk,

[56]Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time? Make Peace with Your Adversary!

Luke 21:9,12-13,15,17-18,25-28, 32-36

[9]But when you hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; for these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately.”
[12]But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake.
[13]But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony.
[15]for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist.
[17]And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake.
[18]But not a hair of your head shall be lost.
[25]“And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring;
[26]men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
[27]Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
[28]Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near..."

Luke 21:32-36
[32]Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all things take place.
[33]Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. The Importance of Watching
[34]“But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly.
[35]For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth.
[36]Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

Acts 1:7-11
[7]And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.
[8]But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Jesus Ascends to Heaven
[9]Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.
[10]And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel,
[11]who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven..."

[12]There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another? Do Not Boast About Tomorrow
[13]Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”;
[14]whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.
[15]Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.”
