[37]As the Lord has been with my lord the king, even so may He be with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord King David.”
[39]Then Zadok the priest took a horn of oil from the tabernacle and anointed Solomon. And they blew the horn, and all the people said, “Long live King Solomon!”
[40]And all the people went up after him; and the people played the flutes and rejoiced with great JOY, so that the earth seemed to split with their sound.
So David, the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord from the house of Obed-Edom with JOY.
1 Chronicles 29:17
I know also, my God, that You test the heart and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things; and now with JOY I have seen Your people, who are present here to offer willingly to You.
Then the children of Israel, the priests and the Levites and the rest of the descendants of the captivity, celebrated the dedication of this house of God with JOY.
Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the JOY of the Lord is your strength.”
Also that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced, for God had made them rejoice with great JOY; the women and the children also rejoiced, so that the JOY of Jerusalem was heard afar off...
But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for JOY, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your name Be JOYFUL in You.
