HEARD GOD'S VOICE: EXTRAORDINARY SITES!

ADAM & EVE

And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.” -

Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him. Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?” He said, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?”And He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground. So now you are cursed from the earth, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. And Cain said to the Lord, “My punishment is greater than I can bear!Surely You have driven me out this day from the face of the ground; I shall be hidden from Your face; I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond on the earth, and it will happen that  anyone who finds me will kill me.” -

Then the Angel of God spoke to me in a dream, saying, ‘Jacob.’ And I said, ‘Here I am.’And He said, ‘Lift your eyes now and see, all the rams which leap on the flocks are streaked, speckled, and gray-spotted; for I have seen all that Laban is doing to you.I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed the pillar and where you made a vow to Me. Now arise, get out of this land, and return to the land of your family.’ ” -

But God had come to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said to him, “Be careful that you speak to Jacob neither good nor bad.”It is in my power to do you harm, but the God of your father spoke to me last night, saying, ‘Be careful that you speak to Jacob neither good nor bad.’ -

And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed. Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn.”So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.”Then He said, “Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.”Moreover He said, “I am the God of your father—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God. -

BIBLE WONDERS OF AGING! #5

UNIQUE EVENTS INLIVES:
 AGED BIBLE PEOPLE:

[22]Obed begot Jesse, and Jesse begot David.

[16]Let our master now command your servants, who are before you, to seek out a man who is a skillful player on the harp. And it shall be that he will play it with his hand when the distressing spirit from God is upon you, and you shall be well.”
[17]So Saul said to his servants, “Provide me now a man who can play well, and bring him to me.”
[18]Then one of the servants answered and said, “Look, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, a mighty man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a handsome person; and the Lord is with him.”
[19]Therefore Saul sent messengers to Jesse, and said, “Send me your son David, who is with the sheep.”
[23]And so it was, whenever the spirit from God was upon Saul, that David would take a harp and play it with his hand. Then Saul would become refreshed and well, and the distressing spirit would depart from him.

[23]Then as he talked with them, there was the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, coming up from the armies of the Philistines; and he spoke according to the same words. So David heard them.
[34]But David said to Saul, “Your servant used to keep his father’s sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock,
[37]Moreover David said, “The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you!”
[45]Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.
[49]Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth.
[50]So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David.
[51]Therefore David ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it. And when the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled.

[3]Therefore all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, and King David made a covenant with them at Hebron before the Lord. And they anointed David king over Israel.
[4]David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.

[1]Now King David was old, advanced in years; and they put covers on him, but he could not get warm.

[1]Now the days of David drew near that he should die, and he charged Solomon his son, saying:
[10]So David rested with his fathers, and was buried in the City of David.
[11]The period that David reigned over Israel was forty years; seven years he reigned in Hebron, and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years

[1]So when David was old and full of days, he made his son Solomon king over Israel.
[2]And he gathered together all the leaders of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.
[4]Of these, twenty-four thousand were to look after the work of the house of the Lord, six thousand were officers and judges,
[5]four thousand were gatekeepers, and four thousand praised the Lord with musical instruments, “which I made,” said David, “for giving praise.”
[6]Also David separated them into divisions among the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
[25]For David said, “The Lord God of Israel has given rest to His people, that they may dwell in Jerusalem forever”;
[26]and also to the Levites, “They shall no longer carry the tabernacle, or any of the articles for its service.”
[27]For by the last words of David the Levites were numbered from twenty years old and above;
[28]because their duty was to help the sons of Aaron in the service of the house of the Lord, in the courts and in the chambers, in the purifying of all holy things and the work of the service of the house of God...

BIBLE WONDERS OF AGING #4

UNIQUE EVENTS IN LIVES:

AGED BIBLE PEOPLE:

MOSES

Exodus 2:1-3,6,9-12,15-17,20-21

[1]And a man of the house of Levi went and took as wife a daughter of Levi.

[2]So the woman conceived and bore a son. And when she saw that he was a beautiful child, she hid him three months.

[3]But when she could no longer hide him, she took an ark of bulrushes for him, daubed it with asphalt and pitch, put the child in it, and laid it in the reeds by the river’s bank.

[6]And when she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the baby wept. So she had compassion on him, and said, “This is one of the Hebrews’ children.”

[9]Then Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Take this child away and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages.” So the woman took the child and nursed him.

[10]And the child grew, and she brought him to Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. So she called his name Moses, saying, “Because I drew him out of the water.” Moses Flees to Midian

[11]Now it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out to his brethren and looked at their burdens. And he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his brethren.

[12]So he looked this way and that way, and when he saw no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.

[15]When Pharaoh heard of this matter, he sought to kill Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh and dwelt in the land of Midian; and he sat down by a well.

[16]Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters. And they came and drew water, and they filled the troughs to water their father’s flock.

[17]Then the shepherds came and drove them away; but Moses stood up and helped them, and watered their flock.

[20]So he said to his daughters, “And where is he? Why is it that you have left the man? Call him, that he may eat bread.”

[21]Then Moses was content to live with the man, and he gave Zipporah his daughter to Moses.

Exodus 3:1,3-4,6,11

[1]Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

[3]Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn.”

[4]So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.”

[6]Moreover He said, “I am the God of your father—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.

[11]But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?”

Exodus 4:10,14-16

[10]Then Moses said to the Lord, “O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.”

[14]So the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses, and He said: “Is not Aaron the Levite your brother? I know that he can speak well. And look, he is also coming out to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.

[15]Now you shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth. And I will be with your mouth and with his mouth, and I will teach you what you shall do.

[16]So he shall be your spokesman to the people. And he himself shall be as a mouth for you, and you shall be to him as God.

Exodus 14:13,21,26-27

[13]And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.

[21]Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided.

[26]Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come back upon the Egyptians, on their chariots, and on their horsemen.”

[27]And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and when the morning appeared, the sea returned to its full depth, while the Egyptians were fleeing into it. So the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.

Exodus 15:22

[22]So Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea; then they went out into the Wilderness of Shur. And they went three days in the wilderness and found no water.

Exodus 34:4,27-28

[4]So he cut two tablets of stone like the first ones. Then Moses rose early in the morning and went up Mount Sinai, as the Lord had commanded him; and he took in his hand the two tablets of stone.

[27]Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write these words, for according to the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.”

[28]So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments...

Deuteronomy 3:23,25-28

[23]“Then I pleaded with the Lord at that time, saying:

[25]I pray, let me cross over and see the good land beyond the Jordan, those pleasant mountains, and Lebanon.’

[26]“But the Lord was angry with me on your account, and would not listen to me. So the Lord said to me: ‘Enough of that! Speak no more to Me of this matter.

[27]Go up to the top of Pisgah, and lift your eyes toward the west, the north, the south, and the east; behold it with your eyes, for you shall not cross over this Jordan.

[28]But command Joshua, and encourage him and strengthen him; for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which you will see.’

Deuteronomy 34:5-8

[5]So Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the Lord.

[6]And He buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth Peor; but no one knows his grave to this day.

[7]Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died. His eyes were not dim nor his natural vigor diminished.

[8]And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days. So the days of weeping and mourning for Moses ended.

[14]And Ephron answered Abraham, saying to him,

[15]“My lord, listen to me; the land is worth four hundred shekels of silver. What is that between you and me? So bury your dead.”

[16]And Abraham listened to Ephron; and Abraham weighed out the silver for Ephron which he had named in the hearing of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, currency of the merchants.

[17]So the field of Ephron which was in Machpelah, which was before Mamre, the field and the cave which was in it, and all the trees that were in the field, which were within all the surrounding borders, were deeded

INTERVENTION FROM BIBLE WOMEN #3

SLAVE GIRL'S INTERVENTION:
FORTUNE-TELLING BRINGS PROFIT FOR MASTERS

[16]Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling.
[17]This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.”
[18]And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And he came out that very hour.
[19]But when her masters saw that their hope of profit was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to the authorities.
[20]And they brought them to the magistrates, and said, “These men, being Jews, exceedingly trouble our city;
[21]and they teach customs which are not lawful for us, being Romans, to receive or observe.”
[22]Then the multitude rose up together against them; and the magistrates tore off their clothes and commanded them to be beaten with rods.
[23]And when they had laid many stripes on them, they threw them into prison, commanding the jailer to keep them securely.

INTERVENTION FROM BIBLE WOMEN, #2

NEW TESTAMENT:

SISTERS MARY & MARTHA:

INTERVENE FOR SICK BROTHER:

John 11:3,5-6,17,20-27,32-33,41-44

[3]Therefore the sisters sent to Him, saying, “Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick.”

[5]Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.

[6]So, when He heard that he was sick, He stayed two more days in the place where He was.

[17]So when Jesus came, He found that he had already been in the tomb four days.

[20]Now Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met Him, but Mary was sitting in the house.

[21]Now Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.

[22]But even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You.”

[23]Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”

[24]Martha said to Him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”

[25]Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.

[26]And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

[27]She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.” Jesus and Death, the Last Enemy

[32]Then, when Mary came where Jesus was, and saw Him, she fell down at His feet, saying to Him, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.”

[33]Therefore, when Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her weeping, He groaned in the spirit and was troubled.

[41]Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.

[42]And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.”

[43]Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!”

[44]And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”

LYDIA, SELLER OF PURPLE:

INTERVENES FOR PRISONERS: PAUL & SILAS

Acts 16:10,13-15,40

[10]Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them. Lydia Baptized at Philippi

[13]And on the Sabbath day we went out of the city to the riverside, where prayer was customarily made; and we sat down and spoke to the women who met there.

[14]Now a certain woman named Lydia heard us. She was a seller of purple from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God. The Lord opened her heart to heed the things spoken by Paul.

[15]And when she and her household were baptized, she begged us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay.” So she persuaded us. Paul and Silas Imprisoned

[40]So they went out of the prison and entered the house of Lydia; and when they had seen the brethren, they encouraged them and departed.
