THE POWER IN GOD'S VOICE!

OLD TESTAMENT

Job 37:2-5

[2]Hear attentively the thunder of His voice, And the rumbling that comes from His mouth.

[3]He sends it forth under the whole heaven, His lightning to the ends of the earth.

[4]After it a voice roars; He thunders with His majestic voice, And He does not restrain them when His voice is heard.

[5]God thunders marvelously with His voice; He does great things which we cannot comprehend.

Job 38:1,7-8,12-13,25-26,34-36

[1]Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said:

[7]When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy?

[8]“Or who shut in the sea with doors, When it burst forth and issued from the womb;

[12]“Have you commanded the morning since your days began, And caused the dawn to know its place,

[13]That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, And the wicked be shaken out of it?

[25]“Who has divided a channel for the overflowing water, Or a path for the thunderbolt,

[26]To cause it to rain on a land where there is no one, A wilderness in which there is no man;

[34]“Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, That an abundance of water may cover you?

[35]Can you send out lightnings, that they may go, And say to you, ‘Here we are! ’?

[36]Who has put wisdom in the mind? Or who has given understanding to the heart.

Job 40:9

[9]Have you an arm like God? Or can you thunder with a voice like His?

Psalms 18:13

[13]The Lord thundered from heaven, And the Most High uttered His voice, Hailstones and coals of fire.

Psalms 19:1-3

[1]The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork.

[2]Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge.

[3]There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard.

Psalms 29:2-5,7-9

[2]Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name; Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

[3]The voice of the Lord is over the waters; The God of glory thunders; The Lord is over many waters.

[4]The voice of the Lord is powerful; The voice of the Lord is full of majesty.

[5]The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars, Yes, the Lord splinters the cedars of Lebanon.

[7]The voice of the Lord divides the flames of fire.

[8]The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness; The Lord shakes the Wilderness of Kadesh.

[9]The voice of the Lord makes the deer give birth, And strips the forests bare; And in His temple everyone says, “Glory!”

Psalms 77:14,18-19

[14]You are the God who does wonders; You have declared Your strength among the peoples.

[18]The voice of Your thunder was in the whirlwind; The lightnings lit up the world; The earth trembled and shook.

[19]Your way was in the sea, Your path in the great waters, And Your footsteps were not known.

HEARD GOD'S VOICE: EXTRAORDINARY SITES! #4

NEW TESTAMENT

GOD'S VOICE: FROM HEAVEN: JESUS' BAPTISM

Matthew 3:13-17

[13]Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him.

[14]And John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?”

[15]But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him.

[16]When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.

[17]And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Mark 1:9-11

[9]It came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.

[10]And immediately, coming up from the water, He saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending upon Him like a dove.

[11]Then a voice came from heaven, “You are My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Luke 3:21-22

[21]When all the people were baptized, it came to pass that Jesus also was baptized; and while He prayed, the heaven was opened.

[22]And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”

GOD'S VOICE: OVER SHADOW CLOUD: TRANSFIGURATION

Luke 9:33-35

[33]Then it happened, as they were parting from Him, that Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good for us to be here; and let us make three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah”—not knowing what he said.

[34]While he was saying this, a cloud came and overshadowed them; and they were fearful as they entered the cloud.

[35]And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!

THUNDERING VOICE: FROM HEAVEN:

HEARD BY PEOPLE

John 12:27-30

[27]“Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour.

[28]Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.”

[29]Therefore the people who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to Him.”

[30]Jesus answered and said, “This voice did not come because of Me, but for your sake.

VOICE FROM HEAVEN'S SHINING LIGHT:

SAUL ON DAMASCUS ROAD

Acts 9:1-9

[1]Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest

[2]and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.

[3]As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven.

[4]Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”

[5]And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.”

[6]So he, trembling and astonished, said, “Lord, what do You want me to do?” Then the Lord said to him, “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

[7]And the men who journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice but seeing no one.

[8]Then Saul arose from the ground, and when his eyes were opened he saw no one. But they led him by the hand and brought him into Damascus.

[9]And he was three days without sight, and neither ate nor drank.

HEARD GOD'S VOICE: EXTRAORDINARY SITES! #2

JOB:

JOB.37: 1-4

1“At this also my heart trembles,

And leaps from its place.

2Hear attentively the thunder of His voice,
And the rumbling that comes from His mouth.

3He sends it forth under the whole heaven,
His lightning to the ends of the earth.

4After it a voice roars;
He thunders with His majestic voice,
And He does not restrain them when His voice is heard.

EZEKIEL:

1Afterward he brought me to the gate, the gate that faces toward the east.

2And behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east. His voice was like the sound of many waters; and the earth shone with His glory.

3It was like the appearance of the vision which I saw—like the vision which I saw when I came to destroy the city. The visions were like the vision which I saw by the River Chebar; and I fell on my face.

NEBUCHADNEZZAR:

28All this came upon King Nebuchadnezzar

29At the end of the twelve months he was walking about the royal palace of Babylon

30The king spoke, saying, “Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for a royal dwelling by my mighty power and for the honor of my majesty?”
31While the word was still in the king’s mouth, a voice fell from heaven: “King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken: the kingdom has departed from you!

32And they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. They shall make you eat grass like oxen; and seven times shallpass over you, until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses.”

33That very hour the word was fulfilled concerning Nebuchadnezzar; he was driven from men and ate grass like oxen; his body was wet with the dew of heaven till his hair had grown like eagles’ feathers and his nails like birds’ claws.

34And at the end of the time I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me; and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever:

36At the same time my reason returned to me, and for the glory of my kingdom, my honor and splendor returned to me. My counselors and nobles resorted to me, I was restored to my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added to me.

37Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heavenall of whose works are truth, and His ways justice. And those who walk in pride He is able to put down
