I had a elementary school teacher once, who always quoted: " Ignorance is bliss" She said this when the class was misbehaving. I wasn't sure what she meant but I didn't want to be placed in the time out corner! I have learned that ignorance is not bliss and not facing your problems lead to devastation. I have matured due to life's ups and downs. I used to say, there is always a silver lining. I don't use this phrase anymore. I say there is a blessing coming when you face test and trials.
