PSALM 92;12
The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree,
He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
ISAIAH 41;19
I will plant in the wilderness the cedar and
the acacia tree...
EZEKIEL 31: 3
Indeed Assyria was a cedar in Lebanon,
With fine branches that shaded the forest,
And of high stature;
And its top was among the thick boughs.
1 KINGS 6: 2-3
2 He also built the House of the Forest of Lebanon;
its length was one hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits, with four rows of cedar pillars, and cedar beams on the pillars.

HISTORICAL CONTEXT
The scriptures confirm that the Cedars of Lebanon were tall and stately shade trees. These trees grow
in the mountains of Lebanon. The cedar wood is red, very durable, and has a pleasant fragrance. King Solomon used it in the construction of his temple.
The Egyptians used this cedar to build ships.
The Cedars of Lebanon are also called the Cedars of God. Lebanon is still known for their beautiful cedar trees. The number of trees in the forests of Lebanon have decreased due to deforestation.
