SIMON, BROTHER OF JESUS

MARK 6: 3

Is this not the carpenter (JESUS), the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?” So they were offended at Him.

SIMON, CANAANITE

JESUS'  DISCIPLE

MATTHEW 10: 2-4

Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;

Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

MARK  3: 14-15

14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,

15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:

16 And **Simon he surnamed Peter;
17 And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder:

18 And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite.

SIMON, (CYRENIAN) OF CYRENE

( CYRENE LOCATED IN LIBYA)

MATTHEW 27: 32

Now as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. Him they compelled to bear His cross.

MARK 15: 21

Then they compelled a certain man, Simon a Cyrenian, the father of Alexander and Rufus, as he was coming out of the country and passing by, to bear His cross.

LUKE 23; 26

Now as they led Him away, they laid hold of a certain man, Simon a Cyrenian, who was coming from the country, and on him they laid the cross that he might bear it after Jesus.

SIMON:

SORCERER, SORCERY

BECOMES A BELIEVER

ACTS 8: 9-13 & 18-24

But there was a certain man called Simon, who previously practiced sorcery in the city and astonished the people of Samaria, claiming that he was someone great,
10 to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is the great power of God.”
11 And they heeded him because he had astonished them with his sorceries for a long time.
12 But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized.
13 Then Simon himself also believed; and when he was baptized he continued with Philip, and was amazed, seeing the miracles and signs which were done.

18 And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money,

19 saying, “Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”

20 But Peter said to him, “Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money!

21 You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God

 22 Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.

 23 For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity.”

24 Then Simon answered and said, “Pray to the Lord for me, that none of the things which you have spoken may come upon me.”

SIMON, A TANNER

ACTS 9: 43

And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one

 Simon a tanner.

ACTS 10: 6 & 32

6 He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the seaside: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.

32 Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of Tne Simon a tanner by the
sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.
